Why this cohort

The round that decides senior offers.

It decides your level

System design is the round that separates mid-level from senior offers at top tech companies, unicorns, and AI startups.

Interview-focused, not theory

Most system design material explains concepts. Very little teaches you to run the round itself: scope it, design it, and defend every trade-off.

Basics to advanced, in order

Start with the fundamentals and finish by designing products like Google Docs and Netflix.

What's covered

From the basics to Google Docs and Netflix.

The cohort runs in two parts across 8–12 live sessions. Part one builds the foundations. Part two applies them to actual interview questions, from core designs to advanced ones.

Part 1 · Frontend system design concepts

  • Approaching the round

Clarify requirements, scope the problem, and structure the answer: requirements, architecture, data model, API, optimizations.

  • Component architecture & state

Component boundaries, state ownership, data flow, and when a client store earns its place.

  • Rendering strategies

CSR, SSR, SSG, streaming, and hydration, and how to choose between them.

  • Networking & data

REST or GraphQL, pagination, client caching, and real-time updates with polling, SSE, or WebSockets.

  • Performance

Core Web Vitals, code splitting, lazy loading, list virtualization, and asset optimization.

  • Accessibility, security & offline

Keyboard and screen-reader support, XSS and CSRF, and offline-first patterns.

Part 2 · Actual interview questions

  • Design an autocompleteCore

Debouncing, caching results, and keyboard-accessible suggestions.

  • Design a news feedCore

Infinite scroll, virtualization, and optimistic posting.

  • Design a chat applicationCore

Real-time delivery, message ordering, and sending while offline.

  • Design Google DocsAdvanced

Real-time collaboration, conflict resolution with OT or CRDTs, presence, and offline edits.

  • Design NetflixAdvanced

Adaptive video streaming, browsing a huge catalog fast, prefetching, and smooth playback.

Questions are drawn from real frontend interviews. The final list may change with the batch.
